Abstract

In today's world, the media play a leading role in many issues in different societies, which is very important. It can be said that political, moral, social, scientific and economic issues are influenced by the role played by the media, their value and importance. And ultimately transform, in explaining concepts such as the face of enemy and terrorist groups such as ISIS, the key role of the media can not be denied. For this purpose, in this research, we have tried to use these two main theories of constructivism and the interaction of diplomacy and media as a theoretical framework and through documentary study methods and content analysis of Iranian films focusing on ISIL in the 90s. What is the role and impact of national identity on foreign policy? How is ISIL portrayed in the content of Iranian movies in the current decade? What is the reason for this image presentation? In this study, two hypotheses of Iranian media diplomacy on the issue of weakening ISIL, in order to increase the strategic value of Iran as a savior of regional issues; Iran's media diplomacy with the aim of ensuring security and national interests was confirmed. Thus, it can be said that Iran is trying to persuade its political, economic and cultural actions and system and public opinion in the target communities to accept it by presenting the horrible image of ISIS and the desired image of Iran in movies, and thus secure its interests. Slow down and increase your power.
